Jane Holgate, who has been at the Working Lives Research Institute for five years, will be taking up a new post in the Work and Employment Relations Division and the Centre for Employment Relations, Innovation and Change at Leeds University Business School from 1 October 2010. During her time at the WLRI she has been extremely successful in winning two ESRC grants and in helping secure the first ESRC Case Studentship at London Metropolitan University. She is not only a highly valued academic, but she has also contributed in a major way to union organising through her work with Hackney Trades Council, TELCO, the campaign for a living wage in London, and through her support for the London region union organisers' network. She has made countless contributions to the TUC Organising Academy and is a lynchpin of the Critical Labour Studies network. WLRI Director, Steve Jefferys, said: “She will be sorely missed at Working Lives, and we wish Jane every success in her new post and for her future career.”
