The Centre for Trade Union Studies

The Centre for Trade Union Studies is an autonomous unit within the newly established Working Lives Research Institute (WLRI).

The Centre was established 20 years ago and has a well-established reputation in the labour movement. The Centre provides:

• research and consultancy for trade unions and the labour movement;
• bespoke short courses for trade unions;
• accredited Higher education programmes for trade unions including an MA in Labour and Trade Union studies, and a new BA in Labour & Trade Union Studies (starting in 2005).

We work closely with other staff in the WLRI in developing a specialist research profile within the field of labour studies.
