WLRI is part of a joint union project with PCS and UNISON establishing the impact of the Government spending review on the household finances of its membership. Incomes Data Services will conduct a survey on the income and expenditure of the unions’ membership and using financial modelling will then capture the impact which changes in government policies and public expenditure cuts are likely to have on the incomes, benefits and pensions of members and their families and on the services upon which they rely. WLRI researchers will then interview 15 survey respondents from each union to explore in more depth the likely effect of the CSR and how a range of union members will cope with the implications of the changes and their perceptions of change. Early results should be available in time for the budget.
