On the 11th of February, a first SPHERE conference was held in the Essonne departmental archives (Paris region, France).
About sixty people attended the event. Sylvie Contrepois, senior researcher at WLRI and coordinator of the research in France, presented the research project.
Philippe Oumont (historian), André Darmagnac (geographer) and Odile Nave (geographer) retraced the history of industrialisation and de-industrialisation in the Corbeil-Essonnes-Evry area.
The departmental archives are welcoming the SPHERE exhibition for two month - from 14 January to 16 March.
The 30 panels have been integrated in a scenography made with numerous old documents and objects from the local companies.
A second conference will be held on the 10th of March. It will address the history of the local social movement.
On this occasion, the SPHERE DVD will be presented for the first time.
