Researchers
This project is an international collaborative effort coordinated by Professor Thomas Kieselbach at the University of Bremen and Claude-Emmanuel Triomphe from the ASTREES social research organisation in Paris. In the UK several colleagues are involved in supporting the project, including: WLRI staff, David Tarren and Steve Jefferys and Greg Thomson, UNISON official and external associate of the WLRI.
HIRES+ started in December 2008 and lasts until November 2009, following on the HIRES project that ran from 2007 to 2008. Download the final HIRES report as a PDF here: HIRES DG Employment
The funding for the project comes from the European Union DG Employment.
The purpose of HIRES+ is to publicise the findings of the HIRES project - whose principal output is the book on Health in Restructuring. The final publication for the HIRES+ project is available as pdf download from this link.
HIRES+ is essentially a dissemination project. Seminars involving social partners are being held in each of six EU member states to help disseminate the findings: essentially that restructuring is often damaging to workers’ health, and that social dialogue is an essential prerequisite to preparing to minimise those negative impacts.
The Working Lives Research Institute is hosting a one-day seminar on Monday 6th July in Central London. See the news announcement here, and download the full invite for this seminar here:
