HIRES.Public focuses the earlier HIRES project recommendations on four public sector areas. It provides an opportunity in seven EU member states to foster public sector social dialogue on the health issues relating to restructuring, and to develop national and international exchanges and to build capacity on these issues.
Recognising that many of the issues confronted are specific to particular branches of the public sector, HIRES.Public examines experiences in four of its component parts: central government activities, local government activities, public health service provision and public education provision.
In order to focus in greater depth on the specific features of restructuring and social dialogue within each country’s public sector, the partners will each concentrate on two of the four target sectors, as shown below
