Research Fellow
Howard’s main research interests include the anthropology of memorials and knowledge production, and the representation of the Holocaust, National Socialism and Marxist-Leninism in the former Eastern Europe. His doctoral work focused on how historians at a Concentration Camp Memorial-Museum in the former G.D.R. are reconfiguring the work of the Marxist-Leninist historians who represented the history of the site up to 1990.
Before entering the academy Howard worked in various capacities in the NHS, an experience that led him to an interest in studying institutions.
