I will advise on the development of questionnaires and collection of statistical data. My current work includes a cross-national study on ethnic minority disadvantage in western labour markets (forthcoming, Oxford University Press) which I co-edited with Anthony Heath, University of Oxford. Recently I have also completed a research project (with Anthony Heath) commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions in Britain, investigating the extent to which ethnic penalties in the labour market vary by employers' characteristics such as industry, size of establishment and sector. I have extensive experience in analysing large-scale nationally representative survey data. This is complemented by my experience in leading a cross-national study of 13 countries (mainly European), and in dealing with complex issues in comparative research. I am fluent in English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin).
