Background/Career

Siddig is a refugee from Sudan. He joined the Working Lives Research Institute a year ago and is now working with comparative discrimination research team. Prior to joining WRLI, he did a Sociology course in Sudan, and then worked as a full time journalist. In the UK, he has done an MA in Applied Social Research and wrote a PhD on ‘British Colonial Policies in Sudan’. He has also worked as a volunteer with many refugee organizations in Manchester and is actively participating in the campaign for democratic transition in Sudan.
