Position (Former staff member) Research fellow
Ian has spent much of his working life as an electrician within the public sector. During this time he has held a variety of lay trade union positions and gained a degree in Social Research and Trade Union Studies. He is presently completing a Masters in Research, which looks at the experiences of women officers within British trade unions.
Ian is currently involved in researching the role of trade unions within small and medium enterprises. His wider research interests focus on issues of trade union democracy particularly in terms of gender and race. Ian is also interested in the ontological and epistemological debates surrounding social research.
